Hospitality job application email template
Published: · Updated:
Tell an employer which job you want, when you can start and what you have done before. Use this email to ask a regional hotel, cafe, pub or other hospitality business about work. If you are applying to an advertised vacancy, follow its application instructions first.
With no advert, this is a speculative application: a short introduction asking whether a suitable employer is considering people with your skills. Check its website for the hiring contact, explain the work you can do and make your availability easy to assess.
Copy and adapt this email
Select and copy the text below. Replace the brackets with your own details and remove anything that does not apply. An employer contact is not confirmation of an open job.

Match the subject to the role
- Housekeeping application | [Your name] | Available [date]
- Bar all-rounder application | [Your name] | [Town]
- Cafe team application | [Your name] | Available [date]
Use the employer's job title when they have listed one. In the message, describe a task you can do: cleaning guest rooms, taking orders, preparing drinks or handling check-ins. Only include experience and qualifications you have. If you are starting out, say so and describe relevant experience from another job.
A housekeeping example
This applicant and business are fictional. Use the structure, not the invented work history.
Subject: Housekeeping application | Alex Chen | Available 1 November
Hi Example Coastal Lodge team,
I'm looking for housekeeping work and would like to ask about opportunities at your lodge. I can start on 1 November and stay until the end of February.
I spent six months cleaning guest rooms at a small hotel. I changed linen, restocked supplies and checked rooms with the supervisor before guests arrived.
I've attached my CV. Are you considering housekeeping applicants? I'm available for a call on [phone number].
Thank you,
Alex Chen
Why these details help
- A clear role and start date
- The subject names housekeeping. The opening gives 1 November and a stay until February, so the employer can assess timing before opening the CV.
- Evidence of useful work
- Changing linen, restocking and checking rooms describe tasks the applicant can do. Replace them with your own experience that fits this business.
- One question the employer can answer
- The email asks whether they are considering housekeeping applicants and gives a contact number. The employer can reply about opportunities or point you to its hiring route.
Check these details before sending
- Check the employer's own website or job listing for its application route. Use a careers form or hiring address when provided; do not assume a reservations inbox handles recruitment.
- Replace the business name and role. State your start date and the length of time you can stay without promising availability you cannot commit to.
- Attach the CV you intend to send. Use a clear filename such as YourName-CV.pdf, and follow any file-format instructions in the listing.
- Send yourself a test. Open the attachment and check your phone number, subject and message before contacting employers.
- Keep a record of whom you contacted and when. Follow any closing date or follow-up instructions the employer gives.
If applications are not getting replies
Work through these checks before sending more of the same message. Silence alone does not tell you whether an email was read or a role was available.
- Employer fit: does the business use your skills, in a location you can reach? Check its own site and any current advert; remove unsuitable targets.
- Hiring contact: confirm the address or application form the employer requests. A general enquiry or booking inbox may have a different purpose.
- Message and CV: state one role, relevant experience and a clear request. Open the attached CV and use Resume Check to review it before sending again.
- Availability: include your start date, how long you can stay and any transport limits that affect the work.
- Sending and delivery: check application history, sending errors and any bounce notices in your email. In get88, also check campaign status and the available employer and Google quota limits. A sent email does not prove inbox delivery.
Keep a record of the employer, date, role and next step. Follow up yourself when appropriate and respect requests not to contact again. get88 does not read replies or automatically follow up with employers. If there is an advertised role, use its application route too; compare direct outreach with job boards to choose where to spend your time.
If you need accommodation with the job
- Cost: ask about rent, deposits, bills and any deductions. Work out what you would have left after housing and travel costs.
- Conditions: confirm whether the room is shared, what is included, who provides it and what happens if the work ends.
- Transport: check the distance to the actual worksite, shift times and whether you need a car or an employer shuttle.
- Employer confirmation: get the role, start date, room availability and agreed costs in writing before booking travel or paying.
An accommodation preference does not reserve a room or confirm an offer. If you want help from a recruiter for remote or live-in hospitality, see the get88 and MLKA comparison and confirm the arrangements for the individual role.
Find employers to contact
Start with the regional employer directory and choose towns that fit your plans. Check each business and role before applying. If you need the job to count toward specified work, use the specified-work guide to find the official checks for your visa. A hospitality title or regional address alone does not establish eligibility.
Once your message is ready, get88 can send individual applications with your approved email and CV from Gmail. You choose what to say and review employer coverage before starting. Connect Gmail and check a test email during setup. See how the setup works.
